Steve Smith leads Information Technology for Nissan’s manufacturing and supply chain operations across the Americas, in which he owns the enterprise platforms, supply chain execution systems, and manufacturing technologies that power the end-to-end factory-to-dealer ecosystem. His scope spans infrastructure, networking, industrial cybersecurity, and the software and solutions delivery that connects it all. With more than 30 years at Nissan, he has led IT organisations across manufacturing, supply chain and logistics, aftersales, connected vehicles, quality, engineering and R&D, Data & AI, and enterprise business domains – bringing a rare breadth of experience that bridges operational reality with digital execution at scale.

Steve Smith is focused on delivering complex, enterprise-wide transformations, such as modernising core ERP platforms, advancing supply chain execution through WMS and TMS, and transforming manufacturing with MES. He and his teams are integrating regional production planning with demand and supply systems into a unified digital ecosystem; and defining the strategies to operationalise AI in real manufacturing environments – all while driving true end-to-end visibility and traceability across the supply chain. At the same time, he is advancing technology platforms and strategies to navigate an increasingly volatile global landscape, addressing geopolitical challenges such as tariffs, trade disruptions, labour considerations, and cost optimisation.

Steve operates at the intersection of leadership, domain expertise, and technology execution –connecting enterprise strategy to supply chain performance and plant floor reality – redefining how modern supply chains actually perform, not just how they’re designed.
