Paulo brings more than 32 years of experience with Volkswagen, leading complex logistics organisations
across Europe and North America. In his current role, he is responsible for programme planning, production control, supply chain management, inhouse operations, pre-series activities, and logistics planning for the Chattanooga plant.
He is widely recognised for his strong, hands-on leadership focused on increasing operational efficiency,
driving logistics digitalisation, and enabling data democratisation across teams to support faster,
smarter decision-making. His approach consistently translates strategy into execution while building
highly engaged and accountable organisations.
Before relocating to the United States in 2013, Paulo spent 19 years at Volkswagen Autoeuropa in
Portugal, advancing from in-house operations and material shortage coordination roles into senior supply chain leadership. Throughout his career, he has served as Logistics Launch Lead for multiple Volkswagen product launches and has helped develop and stabilize critical suppliers across Europe and North Africa.
Paulo holds a degree in Logistics and Distribution from the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal and is highly
respected for his expertise in inventory management, logistics automation, and supply-chain crisis
leadership. Above all, he is passionate about leading resilient, high-performing teams through the
constant challenges of modern automotive logistics.
